The kindergarten program provides appropriate activities that nurture the young student's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Children grow in self-esteem, independence, and individual strengths. The goal of our kindergarten program is to foster a high standard of literacy and number knowledge through reading, writing, mathematics, and STEM challenges. We are currently introducing the From Sounds to Spelling phonics program in the kindergarten to increase their phonological and phonemic awareness skills. Students practice blending, segmenting, and manipulating words, syllables, and phonemes each day. Once in grade 1, they will continue to build on their phonemic awareness and skills with our reading workshop program that also incorporates the From Sounds To Spelling and UFLI Phonics programs. Our kindergarteners begin their STEM journey in our new, state-of-the-art science lab as part of the Lablearner curriculum. They are exposed to research-grade science equipment and hands-on learning as they explore Next-Generation Science standards.
