In Pre-K, students learn through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, and direct educational experiences. Our teachers nurture each child’s independence, self-confidence, and social development, creating a safe environment where children learn to take turns, listen, and share.
Our comprehensive early childhood curriculum focuses on:
Knowledge Building: Topic-based units that spark curiosity and deepen understanding.
Early Literacy Skills: Systematic instruction aligned to the Science of Reading (featuring a Wiley-Blevins curriculum for Pre-K4).
Early Math Skills: Number sense and problem-solving through age-appropriate activities.
Social Studies & Life Skills: Concepts of family and community paired with daily classroom routines.
Religion: Nurturing Catholic values and faith-filled foundations.
Specialized instruction begins right away with separate weekly Specials, including Art, Physical Education, Technology, and Music. This interdisciplinary experience sets our youngest learners on the path to becoming well-rounded scholars in large, spacious classrooms equipped with private bathrooms.
Prayer is a vital part of our day at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. Students begin and end their day in prayer, instilling the importance and essence of our Catholic values.
